If you are betting on Euro 2008 games while in-play with Betfair this may be of use.

I was in-play betting watching the Sweden v Greece game on Freeview and found that the Freeview transmissions are 4 seconds behind what Befair are seeing.

How do I now this ? The Betfair market was suspended 4 seconds before I saw Sweden score, indicating that the man at Betfair with the suspend button was watching transmissions 4 seconds ahead of me.

If you also add the 5 seconds in-play bet placement delay, it means that if you are watching the match on freeview and place a bet, your bet will be placed a total of 9 seconds behind the current state of play.

I have been informed that the pay-off for England's failure to qualify for the Euro 2008 championship is estimated to be almost twenty billion pounds, this includes a pre-match agreement for David Beckham being paid 20,000 for every minute he was on pitch regardless of how well he played, likewise Peter Crouch being promised 10 million if he were to score a goal, no wonder he was so ecstatic when he put away one in the second half, Sol Cambell, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Scott Carson also received a pre-match agreement sums between ten and twenty million, to make matters worse every England player was offered a 5 million pound consolation prize in the event of a failure. Worse the useless manager Steve McClaren obtained a far greater pay off than reported as new sources revealed.
I enjoy football as a spectator sport, but with so much pain and suffering still on this world that us first world inhabitants turn a blind eye to, seeing this amount of money frittered away on luxury is frankly disgusting, i believe they should be paid well for the amount of sweat, stress and turmoil they endure, but twenty billion pounds; which could potentially end starvation through-out the world is almost pure evil.
I call an end to the greed, and a new era of true sportsmanship giving the rest of the world a chance.
I hope my beliefs on this matter are shared with others as this is the only way there can be change.

This is quite an interesting idea (for once) from FIFA, they want to impose a rule where by premiership clubs can only field 5 foreign players on the pitch at any one time. The rule is to try open the premiership up a bit and stop the "big four" dominating the league every season, and to also make it tougher for English clubs in europe as they are dominating the champions league every year.

This would be a plus for the international manager, as more home grown talent would be playing in teams, which is what a lot of people have been wanting. I guess the teams with a lot of foreigners would not be for this rule at all lol

Fair enough its 20,000 more than we have now, but in today's age the stadiums are getting bigger and bigger.
